Calvary Adelaide Hospital
Calvary Health Care Adelaide (CHCA) participates and supports research in accordance with the Catholic Health Australia Code of Ethical Standards. As of 08 Dec 2020, ethical review of new and existing proposals will be provided by the Human Research Ethics Committee (HREC) of St Vincent’s Hospital, Melbourne (SVHM).
Calvary Mater Newcastle
Calvary Mater Newcastle is a world class leader in oncology, toxicology, psychiatry and palliative care research, ranging in scope from basic laboratory to large scale implementation studies. Over 80 per cent of all cancer research in the Hunter is conducted at Calvary Mater Newcastle which is currently the main centre for cancer clinical trials in the Hunter region.
Calvary Health Care Bethlehem
Calvary Health Care Bethlehem is a teaching hospital, and has affiliations with a number of universities including Monash and Notre Dame Universities that support our specialist role in education, training and research. We provide education and training opportunities for a range of health disciplines and build capacity in the broader health sector to enable better care.
Calvary Health Care Kogarah
Calvary Health Care Kogarah Research Centre has a staff of eight and includes clinical trials nurses, PhD students, a clinical research fellow and a post-doctoral research fellow. Some of the projects have been funded by the Department of Health and Ageing, NSW Ministry of Health, National Health and Medical Research Council, Cancer Institute NSW and Cancer Australia and include clinical studies of medications used for pain, delirium, bowel obstruction and for breathing difficulty.

Formed in 2017, the Calvary Palliative and End of Life Care Research Institute connects researchers from specialist palliative care services in Calvary’s public hospital network.
